Clara's Independence
Dear TrumpyYachts.com,
I found your web site after having been pointed in its direction by the owner of the Trumpy Tireless. My grandfather had a Trumpy built in 1959. She was named Clara. I was about 4 years old when she was delivered and I remember being onboard one time in Ft Lauderdale, where I grew up. Within a year of her delivery, my grandfather died and the Clara was sold and renamed Independence. This last fact I learned just this summer.
Many years ago an old friend of my grandfather gave to me a few things from the Clara. For example some photos, a painting, and of more interest a model that was built by Trumpy. I have attached a copy of the photo from the day the Clara was launched and a copy of the painting. Also, I have attached one picture of the model. The model is very detailed. It has a complete interior, including magazines on the tables.
Regards,
Duncan B. Pitcairn
